What a fun weekend. We had beautiful driving weather and fun shows. Old St. Francis in bend put us in one of their guest houses which was super nice. I slept like a rock. We also received our first Road Loaf from Marc Parnell. I wasn’t aware of this but apparently that up’s our Bend status a bit. Marc only gives his favorite bands road loafs.
Check out the ingredients: flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, nutmeg, salt, butterscotch, chocolate chips, almonds, pepitas, pistachios, walnuts, pecans, hazelnuts, sunflower seeds, apricots, golden raisins, cocoanut, papaya, craisins, fig, organic strawberry, pineapple, peaches, apples, pears, pumpkins, cantaloup, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, grapes bananas, rum, brandy, eggs, vanilla, butter, and LOVE.
Headed out of Boise into Idaho we also got to meet some local law enforcement. I was going a whopping 62 in a 55. I knew it was going to be interesting when after I gave him my license, registration and proof of insurance he asked me to please come stand in front of his car while he checked them out. He started asking the expected questions, why am I here, where am I going, do I have a medical marijuana card, when his dog goes through my van is he going to find anything. You know, the usual. I guess being a band in a van is just about enough. Not quite though, since I didn’t have a card and am not super shady he had no reason to make us unload our van so his dog could sniff through our things. Nothing like a run in with the police to get your heart rate up a bit. After a few sweaty minutes we were on our way with a warning. Whew.
We also stayed in the hostel in Boise for the first time. That was pretty fun! I haven’t stayed in a hostel in the states EVER. Everyone there was so nice and most of the folks staying there came to our show. It was walking distance from the venue and right by the farmers market in the morning. Not bad! I bet we’ll stay there again sometime!
Another successful and fun weekend!
